Mr. Fathy is a Managing Partner of Sutter Capital Group and Director of Capital Markets. Burke joined the firm in 2011 to help grow the firm’s investment management business and leads the direction and execution of Sutter’s investment activity.
Prior to joining the Sutter Capital Group, Mr. Fathy was a Fund Manager in Aviva Investors’ Global Real Estate Multi-Manager Group in New York and London. While at Aviva, Burke’s responsibilities included investment analysis and execution, asset management and ultimately responsibility for portfolio construction and management of an $850 million discretionary global separate account, the Group’s largest client. During his tenure at Aviva Investors and its predecessor firm Madison Harbor Capital, Burke sourced, underwrote and closed $180 million of invested capital spanning a wide range of property types and investment strategies.
Prior to joining Aviva Investors Burke was an Associate in the Capital Markets Group of GVA Williams in New York where he was responsible for transactional due diligence and valuation of commercial property dispositions in excess of $500 million. Burke holds an M.S. in Real Estate Finance from New York University and a B.A. in Urban Studies and Planning from the University of California, San Diego.
Since forming SCG in 2008, Ali has invested in over 400 units of residential and multifamily assets in the Sacramento region. Ali’s experience spans across residential and multifamily underwriting, financing, and property management, with a focus on asset management and intensive value-add opportunities. He oversees the firm’s property renovation and construction programs and is also actively involved in its capital markets activity, having led the negotiation and structuring of SCG’s joint-venture partnership with a major Bay Area-based private equity firm in 2011.
In 2011, Tyler led the establishment of Hammer Real Estate Group, Sutter Capital Group’s in-house property management company, and focuses on asset and property management of the SCG and Hammer Real Estate Group portfolios. Tyler’s expertise spans across asset and portfolio management, including all aspects of property operations, project management, and accounting.
Brandon leads all aspects of the single-family home platform, including acquisitions, market research, opportunity sourcing, due diligence, and acquisition negotiation and closing. Brandon has overseen the acquisition of over $50 million of residential assets and managed the disposition of over 400 units of residential and multifamily assets in the Sacramento region. Brandon is also actively involved in Sutter Capital Group’s property-renovation initiatives.
Kyle joined Sutter Capital Group in 2012 and has since played a central role in the firm’s single-family investment platform, having been directly involved in the purchase and sale of over 150 single-family homes. Kyle has also led leasing and property management efforts within both the single-family and commercial portfolios. Kyle, is now hedging up the residential division for Sutter Properties Group.
Prior joining the firm, Kyle worked extensively in distressed asset acquisition and sales. Kyle graduated from UC Berkeley with a B.A. in Sociology and holds an active Real Estate Salesperson License.
Mr. Davison is a Bay Area native and has been a resident of Sacramento since 2010. Marques is the Event Director at the Capitol Event Center (CEC) and is responsible for growing revenue and increasing the total number of events in each of the past five years. His expertise in audio visual support – developed while working as a live sound technician for 10+ years and as an event coordinator at Sacramento City Community College – along with his dedication and responsiveness to clients’ needs enables him to make sure all CEC events run optimally. Marques’ extensive background in music, theater, business and student government has further enabled him to be a highly valued member of the Sutter Capital Group team.
Ms. Kazemi has been an important part of the Sutter Capital Group team since February 2010 and is responsible for all daily accounting and administrative functions. Her responsibilities include account reconciliation, financial reporting and accounts payable for all entities affiliated with Sutter Capital Group as well as the property management company.
Before joining the firm, Nafiseh was as a traffic manager in an international transport company and a bookkeeper for 10 years. She majored in Administrative Studies at a university in Iran prior to moving to the United States in 2005 where she continued her studies and earned a degree as an accounting assistant.
